In a city as colorful, authentic and unpolished as Heraklion, this hotel, situated on a picturesque Agias Ekaterinis Square, may be the best choice in terms of location. You will have the view on three of the city‘s top landmarks - a cathedral and two smaller churches, one of which now houses a museum. Beyond that, this central location offers the best selection of cafes and restaurants, a quick access to all major sites, and an opportunity to observe local life while still being in tranquil environment. Just to note, we had a superior room with balcony and city view. It was on the 4th floor, which allowed us to enjoy the view in full. The room itself was however rather smallish, with bathroom being outright tiny, but still convenient enough for a short stay. Staff is friendly and attentive. The cafe Hacienda downstairs cooks decent food and the order may be brought upstairs to the balcony.

Lovely central hotel with well appointed and comfortable rooms. Our economy room was an inner one which didn’t benefit from a view (privacy film on the window glass etc.) but this was okay as the room felt light and airy and was very quiet. Check in / check out was swift and staff are friendly and speak great English (especially the woman on reception). 2nd time here for us and we would recommend. Locationally, the hotel is near a number of authentic ‘local frequented’ restaurant in the alleys near to it (on the route to lion square) - these places had a really great vibe / super food and good value / not too many tourists. We spent an evening in a meze bar it’s the locals and it was super.

We LOVED our stay at the Metropole! The location was perfect. We were a short walk away from the bustling city centre, but far enough away from the party so that we slept great, with no noise. The hotel is located next to a beautiful church and there are a few restaurants on the square. It's also steps away from the bus that takes you to the airport. You'll definitely want to be up for breakfast - it was outstanding. The menu featured eggs, sausage, bacon, pastries, olives, roasted red peppers, yogurt, and more. They also offered complimentary Greek coffee. The staff are friendly and the facilities, very clean. I would gladly stay at the Metropole again and give it my highest recommendation.

The interior decor is very modern and has that boutique hotel feel. Located next to St Minas Cathedral, there is a nice buzz from the adjacent alfresco dining area and the cathedral square, which serves as a play area for the local children in the evening. The hotel is in a great location for accessing the city centre and the main shopping district. All the staff I dealt with were friendly and spoke good English. The breakfast buffet is served in the sister restaurant, which is accessed through a link door from the lobby. I found the selection catered to most tastes, offering a range of hot and cold food, juices and on-tap filter coffee.

Beautiful, new, boutique hotel in the perfect location near to where all the action is in Heraklion. Your view of the most beautiful cathedral is breathtaking. The hotel is well stocked with top notch clean towels and products, and the staff was so nice and helpful. Arranged all our transportation. We wanted for nothing with their help. Next to a bus stop that takes you straight to the airport if you’re not renting a car. If you have a car, parking is 5mins away. Super location. Super hotel!!!
